Operations and Marketing
Martin has experience of leading multi site operations teams, merchandising and marketing teams at national and board level. His strengths lie in developing business strategy and implementation programs, cultural change and turnaround.
Career Highlights:
Martin started his retail career in high street jewellery before moving to Whitbread where he worked in both operations and marketing with a number of brands including Thresher, Wine Rack (where he was part of the original concept team that grew the brand into a national chain), Bottoms Up and Pizza Hut.
He also has considerable experience in the convenience sector. At One Stop stores (part of the Tesco organisation) he was Director of Service Quality responsible for designing and implementing their customer service, retail excellence and communication strategies before moving to SSP as the National Operations Director for Rail.
At SSP Rail he operated both company and franchised units in over 425 outlets within a portfolio of over 20 brands including casual dining, pubs, and convenience stores. Brands included M&S Simply Food, Burger King, Upper Crust, Café Ritazza, Delice De France and local brands to SSP.
Martin’s operational experience also extends to managing space planning, health and food safety, communications, security, productivity and labour.
Martin launched Reach3 consulting in 2007 (www.reach3.com).

• Personal: Passionate about my family and sport, in particular following the roller coaster of Manchester City FC and playing golf in as many different countries as possible.
