Gary Ward’s skills and experience combine corporate finance and operational management. He has had extensive operational knowledge in both service and manufacturing industries, leading major structural and organisational change.
He has significant experience of start-up, MBI / MBO deals, having completed two BIMBO deals in the last five years and as Commercial Director and Managing Director respectively, successfully developing the businesses for onward sale.
Gary trained as a management accountant in the pet food Division of Dalgety Spillers, before joining Granada where he served as Group Accounting Manager before becoming Finance Director of the £250 million turnover Motorway Services Division. He then served as Commercial Finance Director for Dairy Crest Foods. In 1996, Gary participated in the management buy-in of First Motorway Services as Commercial Director, where he continues to have non-executive involvement. Gary extended his experience to undertake a further management buy-in, this time of Electronic Services (Video) Limited, subsequently sold to Ambient plc.
